At New Providence Church, we care about our congregation and strive to provide the best support possible. We offer a variety of services to our members as part of our Congregational Care program. Read on to learn more about what we can do for you and your family.
PRAYER MINISTRY
Members pray for anyone who submits a prayer request to the church. Names are put on a published prayer list unless requested to remain confidential. Mailed “Prayergrams” are sent if a name and address is submitted with the prayer request.
PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
Cradled in hope… Kept in joy…
Graced in peace…Wrapped in love…
Every Monday from 6-7pm these good people make shawls and lap blankets for those who need comfort and for patients undergoing cancer treatment at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. All are welcome to attend. Don't worry if you do not know how to knit or crochet--they'll teach you!
What is a
Prayer Shawl Ministry?
Needlework and prayer combine to make beautiful prayer shawls for those in great need. Prayer shawls provide love, care, warmth, comfort, encouragement and hope for the people who receive them. All are welcome to join this group that meets Mondays 6-7pm in the Prayer Room.
How Do You Get a Prayer Shawl?
If you or someone you know is dealing with illness, grief, or sorrow and could use the comfort of a prayer shawl, please contact the church office at 770-719-8800, and we will get one to you. New Providence Church started this ministry to provide those in need with physical evidence of our desire to enfold them with love and prayers for whatever healing they need.
